We had lots of fun visiting Church Farm, Stow Bardolph. We stroked some of the animals and asked lots of questions about them, during an animal encounter session. We went on a tractor and trailer ride, and stopped to feed the pigs some carrots. We enjoyed exploring the indoor and outdoor play areas, including the massive sand pit.
We have been exploring homes, including our own homes, homes in other countries and animal homes. We visited the school pond and searched for animals in the environment. We created our own bug hotel in the nursery garden. We made homes using different materials, including sticks, lego and clay.
The topic for spring 2 in nursery was pirates. We enjoyed making pirate hats, designing pirate ships that could float, counting treasure and creating pirate maps using tea bags during this topic. We also dressed up as pirates and followed the clues to search for treasure during a pirate morning and really got into role as pirates. Parents and carers came into class and joined us for some of the activities and helped us make some fantastic pirate hats.
We have had lots of fun finding out about clothes in Nursery. We have been dressing up in traditional Chinese outfits, as part of Chinese new year celebrations.
