We love to cook a range of foods at our school using our cooking facilities. Please try some of these at home and see if you enjoy them as much as we do.
Easter Bunny Cupcakes
As part of our Easter week, Year 2 made Easter Bunny cupcakes. We made the mixture as a class, and then decorated our own individual cake to take home. Here is the recipe so you can try it too!
To make the cupcakes: (This mixture makes 12)
Cream the butter and the sugar together until
light and fluffy.
Add the eggs and mix until smooth.
Sieve the flour into the mixture and stir.
Spoon into cupcake cases.
Place in the oven at 190 degrees for 15 minutes.
For the decorations:
Larger sprinkles for the nose
As part of topic work this half term Year 2 have been looking at how to keep healthy and what makes a balanced meal. The children have designed their own balanced meal and sorted foods into food groups, they also made their own healthy berry smoothies.
You could try to make the smoothie too. You could add other fruits to create a unique version!
As part of Book Week ‘Animals,’ Year 2 made Gruffalo Crumble. We touched and smelt the vegetables and helped to put the vegetables into the bowl. We waited for it to cool down before we ate it and the teachers were so impressed with how many children tried it and enjoyed it!
Year 2 were very busy during our Enrichment Week. They completed a host of Paddington related activities, which included baking some delicious cookies. If you would like to try our marmalade inspired cookies here’s the recipe:
